From beginners to accomplished surfers, from kids to grandparents, we offer professional surf instruction. Small group lessons (max 4 students per instructor) or private lessons available. Please refer to the profile for Ian Bean to review his lifetime of surfing and judging experience. We also employ responsible, patient and enthusiastic surfers who love the sport and love to teach.

We aim to make your first surfing experience fun while safe, and will take you to the places with the best conditions to learn on.

Some people say that Playa Grande is not a good beach to learn to surf, and that Tamarindo is better. Playa Grande is a long stretch of beach, which, at the most southerly point intersects with Tamarindo. When the waves are not suitable for lessons at the north end of the beach, our instructors will take you to where it is more sheltered and fun to learn on. There may be some days where it just is not the right conditions for lessons, and we will advise you of this. For us, it is much more important that you enjoy your surfing experiences here in Playa Grande, and that you are taken surfing when the conditions facilitate this.

By inquiring early on in your trip, or even prior to arriving, we can suggest, based on the swell forecast and tide times, when would be a good time to conduct your surf lesson.
